Building a Layer 0 · self-custody A living world, native to the chain

The chain is the world

Black Block is becoming a Layer 0 — a base chain others will launch their own chains on. Today the wallet, the market and the chat already run on it: you really trade, chat and hold assets. Your wallet is your seat in a world that never pauses.

How to install
  1. Tap Download for Android and open the file when it finishes.
  2. Android will ask to allow installs from your browser — tap Settings, turn it on, then go back.
  3. Tap Install, then Open.

Sideloading is normal for apps outside the Play Store. Checking the download against the SHA-256 above proves it is the exact file that was published here.

On Windows: download the zip, unzip it anywhere and run BlackBlock.exe. The app is not code-signed yet, so Windows SmartScreen may warn: check the SHA-256 of the zip first, then choose More info → Run anyway.

On Linux: check the SHA-256 (sha256sum blackblock-linux.tar.gz), unpack it anywhere (tar xzf blackblock-linux.tar.gz) and run blackblock/blackblock. It needs GTK 3 and GStreamer, which most desktops already have. The globe opens in your own browser; wallet, market, chat and your companies are in the app.

The game

A living world on the real Earth

Grand strategy on the real Earth — zoom from orbit to street level. There are no rounds: the world runs 24/7 and your nation keeps living while the app is closed. A few orders on the go is a turn.

What you do

Build an economy

Found companies by staking coin. Ten resources climb a production chain, from ore and gas up to electronics and military. Every epoch pays out.

Run for office

Stand in elections and hold a seat — mayor, provincial minister, minister-president. Pass proposals, spend the treasury, set the rules others play under.

Trade

Fixed-price listings, goods and assets for coin, with the tax split to the seats that govern your city. No one in the middle.

Raise armies

Move units across the map in real hours, hold a front, take a region. Combat is deterministic and seeded — every battle can be replayed.

The real Earth bleeds in

A real earthquake drops a region's output for a day. Flight traffic lifts its airports. The day follows the real sun. Real data is flavour — it colours the world, it never decides who wins.

The other side, and the economy
Optional · your choice, every time

Connect over Tor and the globe changes: the game steps aside and the God's Eye opens — the real Earth, live, and your IP address never reaches our servers.

How Tor works in Black Block →

One coin for the chain, one for the game

◇ BLACK

The chain's coin. Pays the fees on the chain today, and on the Layer 0 after the move. When the chain moves to the Layer 0, your BLACK moves with it, one for one — claimed with your own key.

◆ VBG

Virtual Black Gold — the game currency. Earned and spent only inside the world: it cannot be bought, sold or cashed out for BLACK.

One game coin, not four. VBG replaces WAR, gold and diamonds; existing balances convert when it lands. The rules for how VBG is issued are published before it goes live.

Every trade in the world is taxed, and the tax funds the treasuries that hold power.

The same chain — without being seen

Black Block works over the open internet by default. Switch on Tor and every request travels through the Tor network to the chain's own onion service. Our servers see a Tor connection — never your IP address. It is a switch, not a default, and you can flip it back whenever you want.

Play the game

  • Wallet, market and chat over the normal internet.
  • The globe is the game: politics, your profile, resources, armies.
  • Fast, and fine for most people most of the time.
Through Tor

Open the God's Eye

  • Wallet, market and chat reach the chain over its onion service.
  • The globe becomes the real Earth: world affairs, conflicts and alliances, live.
  • The game switches off — on purpose, see below.
Switching it on

Android

  1. Install Orbot, the Tor app from the Tor Project.
  2. In Orbot, choose which apps go through Tor and pick Black Block.
  3. Start Orbot, then restart Black Block.

On the phone, Orbot is the switch — there is no second one inside the app. Turn Orbot off and Black Block is back on the open network.

Windows

  1. Use the Tor switch inside the app.
  2. Turn on Through Tor only to lock it.

With the lock on, nothing leaves outside Tor — not even a balance check. If Tor is not reachable the app stops and says so instead of quietly falling back to the open network.

Rules it keeps

Private paths always use Tor

Pool deposits and withdrawals and payments to stealth addresses go through Tor on every device, even when the rest of the app is on the open network. There is no setting that sends them in the open.

The game stays out of Tor

Your game session is tied to your wallet address. One game request over Tor would link that wallet to Tor. So under Tor the page asks nothing of the game, and the server refuses game requests from Tor before it reads any cookie.

It fails closed

The server recognises Tor from the Tor Project's public list of exit relays. No list, or one older than six hours, and it does not guess: the real-world side stays shut and the game pauses for everyone. Privacy before uptime.

One circuit per identity

Over Tor the node cannot see your IP, but it can see which requests arrive together. Since app 6.68.0 every transaction, and every address you ask about, gets its own Tor circuit — so a fresh pool key, a one-time address and your market identity do not show up side by side. It works through Tor's SOCKS port; with Orbot in VPN mode, Orbot picks the circuits.

A route, not a rule

Tor is not part of consensus. Blocks, balances and fees are exactly the same whichever way you arrive — Tor changes who can see you connect, not what the chain says.

!What Tor does not do — honestly
  • Tor hides where you connect from. It does not hide what you do on the chain: addresses, balances and transactions are public, for anyone to read. An address you have used in the open is the same address over Tor.
  • The God's Eye shows public knowledge — it is a separate mode, not a secret source.
  • The public testnet has its own onion service, separate from the current chain's: http://alxq6w4rk54au3sa56fltmcwhpf3kk7rdzfj3kohjjqwxxv72inuf5qd.onion (chain ID 79793). The faucet is deliberately not on it — its limits work per IP, and over an onion everyone looks the same.
  • On the current chain, stealth addresses hide who receives a payment and the pool hides amounts — but the pool does not hide who pays whom. On the new base chain, stealth addresses are live on the public testnet as the open standards ERC-5564 and ERC-6538, on the same contract addresses as on Ethereum; the app uses them since 6.68.0 (in the dev tab, test BLACK), over Tor only. They hide who receives — not who pays, not how much. A pool that also breaks the link between deposit and withdrawal comes only after legal advice, and we will say so here before it does.

The new base chain — try it, stake on it, run it

This is the chain Black Block moves to. Anyone can add it to a wallet, get free test BLACK and run a validator. Test BLACK has no value and there is no promise of mainnet tokens. The app still runs on the current chain for now.

evmd tx staking create-validator validator.json --from operator --chain-id blackblock_79793-1 \
  --gas 350000 --gas-prices 5000000000ablack

Use a fixed --gas (--gas auto fails on this build). Keep priv_validator_key.json on one machine only: the same key signing twice is slashed 5 %.

!Where it stands — honestly
  • At launch the chain runs on two validators we operate (75 % and 25 % of the stake). That is centralised; every validator that joins changes it.
  • Mainnet is stricter: no validator above 33 %, at least four at launch, and only after five independent validators and four stable weeks here.
  • The genesis allocation — 1,000,000,000 BLACK in public pots with vesting — is in pots.json; anyone can recompute it from the genesis.

Built into the chain — and built to run without us

The base chain — and where it goes next

The wallet, the market and the chat are not services on a company's server — they are the chain itself. When you act, you write to the base layer. These work today — but today that chain still runs on two validators we operate, and that is its weak spot. The next step is live: since 28 September the new base chain runs as a public testnet, open to independent validators — add it to your wallet, get test BLACK, run a validator. After that comes the true Layer 0 — a chain others launch their own chains on.

Trade

An on-chain market with nobody in the middle. Listings live in the contract, not on a server.

Chat

Messages sealed to your keys. No account, no phone number — just the wallet you already have.

Assets

Coins and tokens held in your wallet, read straight from the chain, yours to move at any time.

Black Block is built by GreenCode Clan — a collective building the tools and the economy of a community that steps outside state and elite control. It fights by exit and non-cooperation: lawful, in the open, and impossible to switch off.

  • Self-custody by default. Your keys, your coins, your identity — never ours to hold.
  • Works without us. And without the platform. When the provider is pressured, the domain is seized or the account is closed, it still runs.
  • No surveillance. No dossiers. Not of anyone — not opponents, not members, not the public.
  • Open and auditable. Trade-offs stated in the open. We prefer the design without the kill switch.
  • Truth only. No fake voices, no manufactured consensus. We do not win by lying.
  • We do not become what we oppose. A system that only works if you trust us has already failed.
Under the protection of God and His angels.
